Are you ready for your next challenge?

The Council for British Archaeology is providing a nine-month paid placement opportunity with the organisation to support the development of a new YAC website using a co-creation approach.

Role Overview

The CBA has secured funding from Historic England to undertake a 14-month project to create a new Young Archaeologists’ Club (YAC) website with enhanced functionality to meet the growing and varying needs of the YAC network and its users. The CBA has recruited an external website developer to undertake the website development and build. This project will be utilising a co-production and co-creation approach, working with young consultants and YAC volunteers to develop the content, branding and dissemination strategy with the support of a co-creation lead. To support the creation of the website we will employ two paid placements during the project.

The paid placements will work one day a week to support CBA staff and the external consultants with the project. Each placement will have the opportunity to work across the breadth of the project, depending on the activities occurring during their placement period, and will also have the opportunity to focus on a particular area of the project. This might be the technical aspects of the website build, the co-creation workshops or volunteer management, for example.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Awareness of what co-creation and co-production is, particularly in relation to young people.
  • Awareness of web accessibility guidance.
  • Good understanding of what the YAC is and who the different stakeholders are.
  • Strong digital skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including approachability and empathy.

Details:

  • £20,778 pro-rata
  • Part-time 0.2 FTE (one day a week – needs to be flexible to accommodate workflow). Flexible hours; fixed-term contract for nine months.
  • Hybrid working (mainly remote if requested) is offered for this post in line with CBA Policies.
  • 26 days paid holiday (pro-rata), 8 days public holidays per year (pro-rata), in addition, the CBA office is closed for two weeks over the Christmas period.
  • The post is subject to a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
