Young Archaeologists' Club Archaeology and Wellbeing Resource Pack

To celebrate the 2025 Festival of Archaeology, the Young Archaeologists’ Club (YAC) has created a bumper resource pack filled with inspiring activity ideas based on this year’s theme: Archaeology and Wellbeing. You can download the resource pack from the YAC website via the link below.

At its heart, archaeology is about people: how we explore and interpret the past through the lens of the present. It connects us to the stories, places, and communities that shape who we are. Archaeology also has a unique ability to bring people together, spark curiosity, and support our wellbeing by encouraging us to slow down, get creative, and explore the world around us.

In this new resource pack, you will be able to explore this theme through a variety of activities that will take you across the world and back home again. You can explore the crafts and communities of Taiwan, make your own island myth or design your own necklace based on the heritage of East Africa. We also have activities that encourage you to investigate your local heritage and who you are as an individual from your own bedroom! If that’s not enough, you can explore the relationship of pets through time and relax by creating your own tile designs, inspired by different cultures and time periods.

Thank you!

This resource pack has been co-created by young people for young people. All the resources have been created by the Council for British Archaeology’s Youth Advisors and student placements. You can find out more about our contributors in the resource pack.

Together they have created an exciting set of activities aimed at anyone aged 8–16 which are free to access.
