A video exploring creative outcomes inspired by two archaeological sites – the submerged landscape known as Bouldnor Cliff and the treacherous Needles. Join our volunteers and we navigate through eras such as the Mesolithic thorough poetry and song. Enjoy images of various artefacts that tell stories of long ago, of prehistoric settlements and catastrophic shipwrecks. With interludes from Dr. Sara Rich who has created her own artwork inspired by a Protected Wreck site and entitled ‘Yarmouth Roads Hauntography’.

Join us for the Festival of Archaeology at Dalby Forest for fun summer archaeology crafts!
We will have craft activities available throughout the festival, with various themes, make your own rock art, help us decorate our Visitor Centre with archaeological bunting, or take your hand at cord winding!
On the 26th July we will have our heritage forester and archaeologist present to help with crafts, answer your questions and show some archaeology found in the forest. 

Explore the archaeology of a moated Elizabethan hall turned japanning factory in Wolverhampton

Stourhead will celebrate the Festival of Archaeology with a dig for the mysterious Stourton Castle and plenty of medieval merriment for all the family. Join us for daily activities including children’s pottery making, Tales of Robin Hood puppet show and ‘have a go’ archery. Across the final weekend of the Festival of Archaeology, visit the medieval encampment which will give visitors a unique insight into 11th and 14th Century medieval life with living history demonstrations.

This self guided creativity walk will highlight the city of York and guide you through exploring its popular sites as well as some hidden gems! There will be both a digital map available to be used on mobile phones throughout the entire festival, as well as a day where physical copies will be passed out! The sites and stops along this walk will focus on historic York as well as highlight the more modern community uses of the sites. This walk will help guide your walk around York and encourage you to experience the history of the city through a creative lens. Each stop will have a creative prompt, either a chance to write a poem, short story or create a small drawing! Be sure to post your finished projects online to social media and use #creativitytrailyork for a chance to be featured in a CBA blogpost!

Join a guide from the Sutton Hoo Society on a guided tour of the Royal Burial Ground at Sutton Hoo. Discover more about the people who were laid to rest here 1400 years ago. Tours are daily at 12pm and 2pm and are free with site admission. Spaces fill quickly, so we'd recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment.

This year Prior Park Landscape Garden has both a live dig taking place and a family friendly trail.
