The Forgotten Frontline - Explore the Conflict Archaeology of Whitstable and Faversham - Valuing and Protecting Our Past

An online trail to help you to identify the extensive range of defence works and fortifications that were built between 1940 and 1942 in an effort to defend our country from the threat of enemy invasion.

You will be given two sets of clues to track down and visit some of the last remaining examples of wartime structures and buildings.

You can either complete the trail in person; or, you can complete the trail virtually using the What3Words coordinates to locate the sites and buildings online using applications like Bing, Google Earth, Google Streetview etc.

Aerial photographs taken of Whitstable and Faversham by the RAF in May 1946; and,

Location codes provided by What3Words that will lead you to the location of a fascinating range of sites and structures including:

* anti-tank obstacles; pillboxes; radar stations; and, air raid shelters.

To take part you will need to download the What3Words app to your smart device.
