Traces of The Oaks: A Council Of British Archaeology Festival of Archaeology event

Multiple dates and times available

Come and see the finds from the 2011 excavation of The Oaks being processed by the Carshalton and District History and Archaeology Society. The Oaks was one of the great sporting houses of Georgian England and the famous horse races, The Oaks and The Derby were devised there. Most of the finds are fragments from the interior decoration of an extension to the house designed by Robert Taylor for John Burgoyne in the 1760s.
