On the ground

Tracking Down The Hadleigh Roman Trackway

Multiple dates and times available

A test pit in 2015 revealed a possible Roman trackway on the front lawn of the Hadleigh United Reformed Church. A resistivity survey showed a possible trackway with side ditches. Now, with our recently acquired ground penetrating radar, we are ready to carry out a gpr survey and are inviting the local public to come and see how easy it is to become involved in geophysics involving a good healthy walk. This will be accompanied by display boards showing what we have achieved so far and what possibilities there are for the future. If we are not rained off on the Wednesday, and have to do the gpr survey on the next day, we will demonstrate our resistivity equipment on the Thursday when there will also be a coffee morning in the church hall.
