Past to Present Archaeology have an archaeological site in Hawstead, 15 minutes from Bury St Edmunds. 

We are running a project called Prehistoric Suffolk.

It is a summer field school/community project, welcoming members of the public, (16 and under will need an adult with them) and archaeology students. 

We are running for 6 weeks commencing Monday 22nd of July and ending on Friday 26th of August.

We are priced at £450 for a week £350 for students with a student email. A weekend experience is priced at £180. If multiple weeks are booked the weekend is free. A day experience is priced at £100.

On site facilities and camping are an additional £25 a week.

Participants learn and experience all aspects of archaeological training from excavation and recording to post-excavation and finds processing. Additional social evening activities, lectures and finds handling are included. Lunches and snacks and drinks are provided throughout the day.

The next most recent event we are doing is a fieldwalking day on the 16th March 2024, £35 or £25 for students. 

We also have a test-pitting weekend on the 20th and 21st of April priced at a day £50, £40 for students and the full weekend £80 or £70 for students.
