The annual visit to one of Rutland's villages is an important event in the Society’s calendar and it is an occasion of discovery for those taking part. Since 1997 an important part of these visits has been the leaflet guided historical walk around the village. Our walks are now gradually being updated and risk assessed prior to publication for all to enjoy as part of our ‘ USE’ (Umbrella and Sunscreen Engagement) programme.

There are approximately 20 walks in total, to see the overall portfolio look at http://www.rutlandhistory.org/villagewalks.htm, all individual ones are on the Festival website. Most walks are accompanied by a map. All walks and maps can be printed, but if you are using a mobile device to follow your walk, it is a good idea to at least print the map when you have access to a printer. Click or tap on the village name (blue) of your choice to see the walk and its map. Please take advantage of the walks and benefit from fresh air and culture! Note that these walks are the copyright of Rutland Local History and Record Society.
