Heritage Photography

Discover archaeology and heritage through a creative lens.

Collection of photos

The Guided Heritage Photowalk aims to explore and reconnect archaeology, heritage and the present moment through a creative approach. Led by Digital Youth Engagement Producer and neurodivergent visual artist, Emily June Smith, the tour explored seven historic landmarks across Newcastle. With the help of prompts designed for each site, participants were encouraged to rethink the connection of past and present, explore often-missed details in big buildings, and experiment with capturing these moments with the camera of their choice.

Why not head out into your local area to explore the heritage on your doorstep? Use the prompts below and adapt them for photowalks exploring a similar theme in other locations.
