Drink and Draw

7:00 PM

We have teamed up up with Broken Frontier and Gosh! comics as part of our Archaeology and Community Theme Day to present Drink and Draw, an evening of online and in person relaxation and fun!

Broken Frontier is a multiple award-winning web-magazine and a comics community hub with a focus on the worlds of (genuinely) indie, small press, self-published, micro-published and alternative comics. Founded in 2002 in Belgium by Frederik Hautain, the site came under the ownership of long-time contributor and current Editor-in-Chief Andy Oliver in 2017

Grab a cuppa, fizzy drink or something stronger in the comfort of your own home, or organise a gathering in your local cafe or pub. Andy from Broken Frontier will give a prompt on "X" (formerly twitter) and you draw, then post the drawing on the thread - what could be simpler!

Gosh! Comics and Broken Frontier Drink and Draw will also be meeting at The King’s Arms in Soho, London on the evening.

We’ll be starting this week at 7.15pm to give everyone taking part on Twitter the opportunity to introduce themselves to each other as we look to continue fostering an even stronger sense of community. Drawing rounds begin at 7.30pm UK time

So, if you’re joining us online, this is how it works.....

Broken Frontier will use or Festival of Archaeology theme "archaeology and community" and "archaeology past and future"  theme for three sessions across the evening and create three prompts.

We’ll post each of these prompts with the hashtag #GoshBFDD and #FestivalofArchaeology  in three batches at 7.30pm (UK time), 8.15pm and 9.00pm from  the ArchaeologyUK,  and the Broken Frontier Twitter account. You have 30 minutes to draw something fitting that theme, after which we’ll spend 15 minutes picking a winner before the next round begins. Don’t forget to post your drawings with the #GoshBFDD hashtag so everyone can see and join in. And also so we can easily retweet!
