Heritage explorer trail | The Vyne | Hampshire

Runs throughout festival

At National Trust's The Vyne in Sherborne St John, Hampshire, running 13-28 July 10am-4pm, all ages can become a heritage explorer for the day using a free spotter sheet available at Visitor Reception. Picnics are welcome and there's free parking. Normal admission applies and National Trust members enjoy free entry.

There's toilets just past Visitor Reception on your way in and by the Brewhouse tea-room. When you need to refuel, you can get ice creams, top-snacks and hearty meals in the Brewhouse opposite the gift shop. Very young explorers can enjoy a natural play space just off the Lime Avenue. All parts of the trail are within site of hard gravel paths in the gardens.

Once a Tudor palace to rival Hampton Court, the house at The Vyne has evolved over the centuries. You can venture inside for a look everyday 11am-3pm, while out on the estate, past The Vyne's lake, three circular way-marked routes will lead longer legs along a twisting network of paths beneath the leafy canopy of Morgaston Woods.
