This 2020 CBA Festival of Archaeology theme was Climate and Environment, something that we are becoming increasingly aware of as a society. During the Festival online and in person events around the country hope to share some of the stories of environmental change and its impact on human activity from the Mesolithic through to the present day.

As part of the festival Butser Ancient Farm have created a specially written audio guide focussing on Climate and Environment during the periods represented at the Farm, Stone Age, Iron Age, Roman and Saxon, which you can download or stream for free direct from the Butser website.

Listen to the audio guide at your own pace using your mobile phone, and explore the reconstructed ancient buildings at Butser Ancient Farm to fully immerse yourself in the past. Find out more about how ancient people adapted to and shaped the changing environment around them.

We recommend downloading these audio files in advance of your visit, they can also be streamed directly from the Butser website without downloading, however mobile phone signal can be temperamental at the farm so may not give such a good experience.
