Grosvenor Park is a Grade II* registered park and one of the finest examples of a Victorian public park in the UK. It is located just outside the historic city walls of Chester overlooking the River Dee and adjacent to the Roman amphitheatre and the medieval Church of St John the Baptist.

A programme of archaeological excavations, run as a training dig by archaeologists from Cheshire West and Chester Cultural Service in partnership with the University of Chester, has been taking place in the Park for a number of years. The dig had to be cancelled this year but in this small exhibition you can see some of the fascinating discoveries from previous years that reveal new information about the history of the Park and its surroundings.
