Did you know that there is a publicly accessible online resource where you can find out all about proposed changes to heritage sites in England and Wales?

Planning authorities have a statutory duty to consult specialist conservation organisations called the National Amenity Societies for advice on planning applications which affect listed buildings and similar heritage assets. On behalf of all 6 organisations, the Council for British Archaeology maintain a database which records the consultations received, the caseworkers' decisions, and details about the location and history of the historic sites.

Go to https://casework.jcnas.org.uk/ and click the "public access" button to explore your area, find out about a particular kind of building, or look for buildings with a certain level of protection ... or whatever else takes your interest!

Here's a step-by-step guide to using the database to help you find you way around.
