Open Access Article - Reconnecting Archaeology

This 18-month initiative aims to strengthen the archaeological sector by reshaping how the CBA supports and connects grassroots archaeology. It will address challenges such as resource constraints, audience development, and the evolving role of the CBA as a membership organisation.

As the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) marks its 80th anniversary, it’s a time not only for reflection but also for forward thinking. Established in 1944, the CBA has faced numerous challenges and celebrated many successes. Now, with the launch of the NLHF-funded Reconnecting Archaeology project, the focus shifts to securing the future of grassroots archaeology for the next 80 years.
