CBA Youth Advisory Board Toolkit

We've created a Youth Advisory Board Toolkit to help embed young people's voices across the Council for British Archaeology (CBA). Developed in partnership with Participation People and funded by Historic England, this toolkit is designed to support the goals of our Youth Advisory Board.

By engaging young people in our decision-making processes, this toolkit aims to help create lasting change, ensuring their perspectives shape our work and improve the services and opportunities we provide.

This resource was created to help CBA staff and others foster a more inclusive and youth-centered heritage sector.

How to Use This Guide

The sections of the toolkit each focus on a theme along with information for you to consider when developing or participating in the programme. The Council for British Archaeology is committed to improving how we embed young people’s thoughts, views, and lived experiences across the organisation. That’s where the CBA Youth Advisory Board comes in.

Who is the Guide For?

We expect that the toolkit will be most useful for CBA participation staff members who will be supporting or leading some of the programmes. However, it has lots of ideas and activities that could be used and adapted by others developing their own youth advisory board and/or youth governance programmes.
