Please note: the Council for British Archaeology facilitates the Festival of Archaeology, however we remind organisers that it is their responsibility to undertake checks, risk assessments and safeguarding, as well as manage event enquiries and undertake core event promotion.

Health and Safety
It is really important that you read through the Health and Safety guidance for the Festival, this ensures your audience and your own safety, please take the time to produce a risk assessment, our insurance policy requires this to be part of the event creation process.

Marketing and Photography
Our Marketing and Photography guide will help you publicise your event has details of how to keep us up to date so we can help spread the word through the CBA’s media channels for UK wide coverage. There is also information on capturing images and video at your event.
This year the Festival is once again a hybrid event and that means there are lots of great ways to get involved and engage the public in the fantastic work you do.
List your live events through our Festival event listing
On the ground events – the Festival of Archaeology has always been about getting people together in person to participate in archaeology and heritage.
Online events – digital events such as talks and workshops create opportunities to reach audiences across the UK and if you record your live event, you can also add details of the recording to our Festival Resources.
Use our Festival Resources area to share content available all year round
Self-led activities – this can be digital or on the ground activity that involve participation such as a self-guided walk or a craft activity that can be completed in the individual's own time.
On-demand resources – this includes pre-recorded talks, virtual walks and immersive landscapes or other activities that can be accessed at any time from the comfort of your armchair.
