CBA East Midlands

CBA East Midlands covers the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, and Rutland.
The activities they run include two conferences per year, focusing on the latest archaeological research across the East Midlands. They also organise outdoor events in the summer, to explore some of the region's archaeological heritage and visit ongoing excavations. Their Parish Boundaries project aims to compile a Domesday-style record of how parishes are physically defined across the region. Additionally, they have devised an award-winning training workshop that provides guidance to community groups and individuals who would like to carry out their own fieldwork and make available a limited source of grant funding to help such groups.

The Council for British Archaeology works with eleven local CBA groups in England and Wales, and in Scotland with our sister organisation, Archaeology Scotland. These groups operate separately from the head CBA and manage their own activities and governance.
