CBA Wessex

Anyone with an interest in the archaeology of Berkshire, the Channel Islands, Dorset, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, and Wiltshire will find something for them at CBA Wessex. This Wessex area is rich in archaeological sites from prehistory to modern, including industrial, maritime, and military.
Their membership includes people with a general interest or professional involvement in archaeology, as well as individuals simply looking for an active pastime. They keep their members up-to-date on what is going on in the region in their twice-yearly newsletter and monthly e-newsletters, as well as on their website, and Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Their annual themed conference is an opportunity for members to meet like-minded people and is attended by academics, professionals, and individuals with a general interest in the subjects covered. They also arrange lectures, field visits, guided walks, and study days, and take an active role in preserving and enhancing their heritage through engagement with public bodies to the physical maintenance of ancient monuments.

The Council for British Archaeology works with eleven local CBA groups in England and Wales, and in Scotland with our sister organisation, Archaeology Scotland. These groups operate separately from the head CBA and manage their own activities and governance.
