CBA West Midlands covers Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, and the West Midlands (Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, and the Black Country).

They bring together those interested in archaeology in the West Midlands and promote opportunities for education and participation.  They also encourage and publicise relevant research and campaign for the historic environment through their advocacy work. As well as support local societies and work with other partners.

Their subscribers receive a range of benefits including a copy of their flagship publication West Midlands Archaeology, an annual round-up of archaeological research across the region, as well as two newsletters a year featuring information on events, lectures, news, and exhibitions. Subscribers are also invited to their AGM and summer day school and receive ad hoc information about other events in the area. This includes discounts for their own ‘News from the Past’ conference, featuring recent research from professional and amateur archaeologists working in and around the region.

To find out how to join visit their website. You can also find them on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

The Council for British Archaeology works with eleven local CBA groups in England and Wales, and in Scotland with our sister organisation, Archaeology Scotland. These groups operate separately from the head CBA and manage their own activities and governance.
